Sinds 1966 is Leroy Sibbles zanger bij het Jamaicaanse trio The Heptones. Hij leerde op de bas spelen en werd sessie muzikant voor Coxsone´s Studio One. Daar bedacht hij de bassline van Full Up, waarop jaren later de wereldhit Pass the Dutchie van Musical Youth was gebaseerd.
